Of course everyone is ignorning the fact the Canadian government doesn't need to break into places to get property, but HEY! I wager it's the Sri Lankan government trying to find out WHO is on that boat. Or gangsters.

2. racism, really

Basically this is the second ship of Tamil refugees to show up off British Columbia's shores. People who are scared of all the dark-skinned folk in different clothes are just loving it cause this is a clear cut case of ships coming here without going through proper channels. Of course, what they refuse to admit, or examine, is that MAYBE these people are actually in need of refuge! Makes me mad. Also, near the end of the Sri Lankan war there was massive roadblocks IN Canada from Tamils trying to draw attention to what was happenening.

So, the entire group is labelled as terrorists, politicians get to make hay out of it, meanwhile people who's lives have pretty well ALWAYS been shit get to be treated even more like shit by a bunch of spoiled assholes.
