The story is interesting, if true. I wonder how many other Republicans are so in thrall to their perceived base that they will come out in favor of civil rights for all citizens only when they've turned their back on the whackadoodles? So many Republicans appear to know what the right thing to do is, but none of them seem willing to do it for fear of backlash from the backwash. Hardly the stuff of leadership.

2. Here's the problem with the Florida Senate Race

I was talking with a friend who lives in Florida and a longtime DUer and even she is considering Crist.

And that says alot for her, she's as democrat as they come. But if Crist and Rubio are running tied going into November then the last thing that she (or any sane progressive-minded person) wants is to have a right-wing extremist like Rubio as their senator.
