Republican candidate says Girl Scouts "have become a pro-abortion, feminist training corps"
Republican candidate says Girl Scouts promote secret feminist agenda

----------------------------

Hans Zeiger, a Republican candidate for Washington state's House of Representatives, says the girl scouts are pushing a feminist agenda that's harmful to American youth. He shared his anti-Girl Scout sentiments in a past column written for a conservative Web site, which the Democrats dug up and is now going viral on the Internet.

One might wonder why the Girl Scouts have been spared the painful attacks that have been launched upon the Boy Scouts by the Left in recent years. The reasons are simple: the Girl Scouts allow homosexuals and atheists to join their ranks, and they have become a pro-abortion, feminist training corps. ... If the Girl Scouts of America can't get back to teaching real character, perhaps it will be time to look for our cookies elsewhere."

Zeiger is trying to cover his tracks by having the statement removed along with a number of other problematic remarks made in columns on right-wing Web sites.

He told The News Tribune of Tacoma, Wash., that the articles no longer represent his values and were distracting from his campaign. The House Democratic Campaign Committee says he was trying to hide his extremist views.

4. A sample of next year's House.
This one may not get elected, but many of them will and they will be setting the agenda.

5. And what have the Boy Scouts become? Oh that's right, the training camps for brown-shirted GOP
homophobic and anti-diversity future lobbyists.

8. I have read several comments by RWers on various sites stating their hatred
for the Girl Scouts/Brownies fot similar reasons - women to them are posessions and subjects and not real people, certainly not able or entitled to think for themselves. And of course they want their kids of both sexes to think that way, too.

13. I remember reading about a women's canoeing group. As they marched thru the woods
carrying a canoe on their heads, a man passing by made a comment about women 'needing men'. Just the simple act of a group of women engaged in non traditional activities is threatening to some.

10. Wow.
After the Girl Scouts, who is next? Children's Hospitals because they only treat children? Socialism at it's worst! How about seeing eye dogs? Forced labor if you ask me.

11. they were pro-integration when it wasn't cool
and also inclusive of girls with disabilities. The founder of GSUSA insisted on this because she herself was deaf.

By the 1950s, the GSUSA had begun significant national efforts to desegregate the camps and maintain racial balance. One of the first desegregations, accomplished by Murray Walls in 1956, was Camp Shantituck in Kentucky.<11> Later the same year, Martin Luther King, Jr. described Girl Scouts as "a force for desegregation".<12> In 1969, a national Girl Scout initiative called Action 70 was created that aimed to eliminate prejudice. Gloria D. Scott, an African American, was elected National President of the Girl Scouts in 1975.<13>

12. Not only gays, but people of all religions or lack of religion
The Girl Scouts is a wonderful organization, teaches girls a lot of wonderful skills. Sometimes I think, though,, that the Girl Scouts is not feminist enough.

I spent most of my K-12 education at my local government indoctrination center. I was also home schooled during the seventh and eighth grades. The corridors and classrooms of the modern public school are so polluted with the filth of moral relativism that the typical public high school graduate moves into the world devoid of character, conscience or courage.

Of course though he says he wrote these as a 19/20 yr old and now, being 25, is much more mature with different feelings about things.

15. Unlike the boy scouts (brownshirts)
the Girl Scouts value people for their individual character. The boy scouts (brownshirts) are a relic of 19th century where only white privileged men had rights.
