My faith in human kindness was restore a bit today..
I lost my wallet after a trip to the store. I realize it was missing about 45 minutes later and was freaking. Call the store, etc. and was about to start canceling my credit card when I had a ring and the door. I older man ask me if I was Mary B***** I immediately said you found my wallet! He said his son-in-law did and they didn't find a phone number in the wallet so he drove out to my house to give it back to me in person. Wow. I gave him a huge hug and thank him over and over.

I'm smiling right now in my heart.

1. May we all run into more of the good ones than the bad ones in our lives.
(and always pay it forward when you do)

4. I lost my money/ID pouch once years ago...
...when I was traveling cross-country. It was in a store, and I didn't realize it until I'd driven some distance on my way already. Everything of value that I had with me was in it: ID, money, credit cards. I turned around and drove like crazy back to the store, without much hope - but there it was, at the customer service desk. Someone had found it and turned it in. Not even the cash was missing. Truly amazing.

12. I grew up in Canada and then emigrated.
What amazes me are that American's are amazed by : wallets being returned - meaning that you asume that it will be stolen/salvaged by someone the second it is out of your possession, and those signs for medical fundraiser that you can see in every convenience store and gas station in the country. I never saw one of those until I moved here - meaning that American's refuse to take care of each other. Screw the terrorists, no one hates American's more than other American's.

Just my 2 cents.

7. I think most people are kind--but some souls get overtaken by fear.
Good to hear you found one of the majority.

8. Fly u foolz!
A little off topic, but this is the first time I've seen your kitty hanging on the edge of a precipice.

Before I went online just now I set down the book I was reading -- Tolkein's Fellowship of the Ring. I just finished reading the chapter where they escaped from Moria and Gandalf yelled Fly you fools! as the Balrog's whip dragged him off the edge of the precipice.

The coincidence of timing -- whether it be Gandalf, or the right person being at the right place at the right time to find your wallet.

11. I once found a cell phone on sidewalk.
Not knowing what else to to do, I called a couple number on the phone and described the phone and left my own number. Later that night at work I got a phone call from the owner. She came to my place of work and picked and apologized for the voice-mail.

I said, what voice-mail?

She had left a nasty VM on her phone to whoever she thought stole her phone. We laughed about it.
