Damning Zuckerberg IMs confirmed. Calls his Facebook users 'Dumb F*cks.'

A series of "embarrassing and damaging" IMs from Mark Zuckerberg have been confirmed as real by The New Yorker, and by the Facebook founder himself. Among them, an exchange once leaked to Silicon Alley Insider in which Zuckerberg explains to a friend that his control of Facebook affords him access to any personal information he might care to access on any Harvard student:

ZUCK: yea so if you ever need info about anyone at harvard
ZUCK: just ask
ZUCK: i have over 4000 emails, pictures, addresses, sns
FRIEND: what!? how'd you manage that one?
ZUCK: people just submitted it
ZUCK: i don't know why
ZUCK: they "trust me"
ZUCK: dumb fucks

Then, there's this gem:

FRIEND: so have you decided what you are going to do about the websites?
ZUCK: yea i'm going to fuck them
ZUCK: probably in the year
ZUCK: *ear

I don't have any information on Facebook that couldn't be gathered about me any number of ways. Although I am amazed at some of the information some people will publicly display.

4. Social media sites fall like dominoes. Facebook replaced MySpace. Something will replace Facebook.

Hopefully sooner, rather than later.

Beyond Zuckerberg. Beyond Facebook's horrible security. As a UI designer, I just think it's ugly and confusing.

I dealt with it to learn about it, but I will never use it.

15. I think you're right. For one thing, who in their right mind would post their SSN online.

In my short (for work only) time poking around Facebook, I never saw one or even a place to put one.
