If the Tea Party were really a party, would they even be listed
under the "Republican" ticket on the primary ballot? I say no.

That was the argument that I was making this morning to a coworker. He said it's definitely a party of its own who people refuse to recognize. I said it's an ultra-conservative wing of the repub party full of opportunistic repubs looking for votes. If it was it's own party, they wouldn't be part of the repub primary.

See, I accidentally started it all when I called Christine O'Donnell a loon. Even as a repub, I thought this guy had better sense, but he thinks O'Donnell, Urquhart and Palin are gonna be their saving grace. In his eyes, the only reason Clinton left a good legacy was that the repub controlled House and Senate controlled the strings. In his eyes, McCain was the weak one on the McCain/Palin ticket and Palin had a history of being a strong Governor with good policies and good decisions. I told him he should get a new TV tuner, because with his reception, he only seems to get FOX.

UGH!!!

1. Ask him why his heroes are on the Republican primary ballot if they're independent.

2. One of the Republicans explained it this way. The Tea Party
are giving the Republicans the next two years to prove
their conservatism if they gain control. If the Republicans
disappoint, the Tea Party will officially become their
own party. In other words, go far right and stay there
with each piece of legislation or we form our own party.

I believe it was Trent Lott and Dick Armey explaining this.
