37. I agree...I included it because it was #13 of #13, but reluctantly...
...I can't speak to the original poster's intention behind that one, because it could be taken a number of different ways. Perhaps the best way to take it is not at all, and I do apologize to those who are offended by it. I personally don;t believe that it was intended to ridicule people with disabilities, but once again, it wasn't my idea, so I can't say.

Edited on Tue Sep-14-10 02:34 PM by LibertyLover
Only one of those women is wearing garb that is vaguely colonial and that would be the one on the left. I believe the style of dress is called a polonaise. The one in the middle is wearing something circa 1890 (I'd call it early bordello tacky personally) and the one on the right is wearing a Civil War era day dress, complete with hoop.

23. As a former costumer, I must wail at #6: WHY?!?
First of all, none of those costumes would qualify as "Colonial", although the toile-and-stripe one comes closest. The other two are turn-of-the-century (center) and Civil War era (right). But...why the costumes at all? What purpose does it serve? Oh...fuck it. :banghead:

33. The teabaggers
They look like those who wanted the government to intervene to keep Terri Schiavo on life support.
They look like the same freaks who called for a boycott (and violence) against the Dixie Chicks.
They look like the same freaks who tried to shut down the Florida recount in 2000.

See the trend?

35. I would remove the wheelchair photo from this, as the wheelchair is not relevant
My mother is a lifelong Democrat and is now in a wheelchair at 91 years of age. I think the fact the woman is in a wheelchair is irrelevant to the event she was at and irrelevant to the theme of this thread. I disagree that wheelchairs are some sort of fashion trend among teabaggers. Other than that I thought this was an amusing thread. I would have chosen the Statue of Liberty visors as one of the teabagger fashion trends.

47. NPR this morning described the Tea Partiers as "White, bright, and right"
"Bright" caught my attention. They claimed that they were mostly an intelligent bunch.

I have to think they were referring to the ones behind the scenes, pulling the strings. I have to agree. They are geniuses.
