Watching the mainstream media handle the Republicans has raised my blood pressure and my doctor has told me to get a grip on it so I am asking the Main Stream Media to ask Republicans who appear on the TV two questions.
Now when a Democrat talks about a matter of policy then 50 questions follow.
"If we pass national healthcare what impact will that really have on diabetes in rural areas where obesity is a much greater issue, huh HUH HUH?"
"If the stimuluous is passed and instead of creating 645,000 jobs only 630,000 jobs are made will you consider this a success?"
and so on.
When Republicans talk vaguely about their "policy" no intelligent questions are asked. This includes MSNBC too.
Here are the questions that should be asked over and over and over again.
Question One
Mr./Ms. Republican office seeker, you are running on a platform of 'more limited government' will you please specify what agencies you seek to abolish?
<wait for Repbulican non response>
Will you support the abolition of
CDC? Social Security? Medicare? NASA? USDA? Post Office? FEMA?ta US Coast Guard? <continue to ask questions until every government agency has been listed>
You have just agreed to eliminating ___ government agencies which amounts to ___ % (less than 2%) how is that a policy to limit government?
Question Two
Mr/Ms. Republican Office holder you are advocating for a lower tax rate. You have said that lower taxes will stimulate the economy and in fact increase the revenue of the government. You present this as an absolute argument and not a relative one. In other words when President Kennedy cut Eisenhower's top tax rate of 80% it was reasonable to see that there would be a real stimulus effect that would increase overall tax revenues. However you continue to urge tax cuts regardless of the tax level regardless of what the level is. Is it your position that all tax cuts will expand the economy and increase government revenue? Is it your position that it should be cut to 20% 15% 10% If your position is as absolute as you make it why not make the tax rate 1%?
<after Republican non response>
Isn't it a fact that the optimum level for stimulus and raising revenue to retire the debt was achieved under President Clinton and that every tax cut by Republican Presidents Reagan and Bush have added substantially to the debt?
My doctor thanks you in advance.
