Who ever imagined a teabagger would win Ted Kennedy's seat? That was a mindblower. So I'm not so quick to declare this good news for the Dems.

I believe we need to fear their victories. They have several local candidates here going after the few Dems we have in state rep positions. A year ago I would have thought that it was impossible for them to win any of these seats. This is not a far right stronghold. My county is pretty moderate. But the teabaggers have fired up their base and we are playing hell fighting back. It's gonna be tough to keep these seats.

One of our teabagger candidates is a father of a girl who was murdered. It was a high profile crime. He has no political experience but is literally stealing votes from a good experienced Democrat who has easily won her seat, which has been a Dem seat for about 15 years now. Another local teabagger candidate is a homeschooling mom who is advocating cutting school funding. And she is giving another good Dem a run for his money. It's unbelievable to me that in this area where some of the best schools in the country are located, where the local school district is recognized as probably the best in the state, that a candidate who wants to reduce school funding has a remote chance of winning. But she just might steal the seat.

It's amazing what the teabaggers can do when they fire up their base. So no, I'm not willing to call any race a victory for the Dems yet.
