I actually think the nutbaggers' "big" wins tonight portend well for our country.

Every nutbagger in the country voted tonight.

Most sane people stayed home.

This is all they got, folks. That's it. They shot their wad tonight (I'm looking at you, Christine). Every last sane repubican in New England is gone. That is spreading. The reasonable ones got their ass kicked by batshit crazy people. But the fact is, every batshit crazy person voted tonight. There is no apathy in their ranks, only zeal.

But there is no big crowd. Look at O'Donnell's acceptance speech. I have seen bigger audiences at school board primary winners' parties.

If you want to win, just go vote. And just for the hell of it, ask your reasonable repubican neighbor to go to the polls with you.

Neither of which will hold when the likes of Christine O'Donnell start talking. I have long been predicting teabagger primary wins followed by a shockingly big Dem turnout (relatively speaking) in the generals.

I heard this in passing, so, I don't know how real this is, but someone said that there was confusion around the primaries, with registered Democrats showing up:

It seems that some Republicans changed their party affiliation to vote in the Democratic primary in 2008 (Operation Chaos!)and forgot to change back. If this is the case, that makes me laugh even harder!

a party has reached when it has appealed so entirely to its base that it loses all independents. I think the GOP is trending there.

10. We're going to see at least a few tea partiers win

In Utah, Alaska, and Kentucky, there are going to be wins for the tea party. Clearly, in a goodly number of Congressional districts, this will happen as well.

Let's hope they give the GOP establishment the majority of the trouble, but I have a feeling that what they will bring to government will get worse before it gets better.
