National GOP backs O'Donnell, donates maximum allowed

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is backing Christine O'Donnell in her bid to win the U.S. Senate.

After murmurings that the national party would withhold donations from O'Donnell's campaign, the party announced today they are sending her a check for the maximum donation allowed.

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware,” NRSC Chair Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said in a news release. “I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support.

The NRSC is sending O'Donnell a check for $42,000 today, the maximum they're allowed to donate.

Well that will be enough to cover her rent for a year plus other living expenses. Why do I suspect that's about it when it comes to supporting O'Donnell. $42k is a drop in a bucket and will hardly get her thru the election although that is the max in donations you can give to a campaign. The question is - will they help pay for the ads & promotions needed to win or did they just write Ms O'Donnell a check for $42k and wiped their hands clean of this whackadoo

1. $42K, eh? She's probably running out to buy a new Lexus as we speak!
I knew damn well the Repukes would turn tail and throw their weight behind her; I just didn't think it would happen in a matter of HOURS!!

2. Didn't they go after other candidates for spending campaign
money on themselves. How in the hell is this woman getting away with this. I guess even the DOJ is afraid of the tea bags. They sure are afraid of republicans. Holder has less spine than Obama.

3. She won't need their money

She is raking in between 1-5 thousand a minute on her website. they keep on raising the funding goal. it's at about $500,000 which she should have after i come back from lunch. I bet most of that money is coming from out of state.

Let's hope she spends it on a Ferrari and not the campaign!

4. Just like they're standing by crazy Joe Miller in Alaska,
even though Lisa Murkowski has been doing back-bends for years to get in good with the Washington establishment. She hasn't endorsed Miller, either, and may announce a write-in campaign on Friday.
