Udall and Gillibrand to Holder: Don't appeal DADT decision
Sorry, "he has to defend The Law Of The Land!!!!1" types... here is some REAL fierce advocatin' on our behalf:

=======

This is great. Two of our strongest advocates in the Senate, Mark Udall and Kirsten Gillibrand, wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder asking him not to appeal the recent decision in Log Cabin Republicans vs. United States, which found DADT unconstitutional.

We've been banging that drum that the DOJ does not have to appeal this decision, as have many others including Richard Socarides. The Obama administration does not have to appeal this decision. It's great to see that Udall and Gillibrand agree and are willing to speak out. Thanks.

Here's the letter:

1. No, no, congress is the problem
They can't do this. Congress is the problem. Obama's hand is forced to compromise on this issue by a congress that is full of conservadems. He isn't god you know. He can only do what congress will let him do. He has to appeal this decision because congress is forcing his hand.

I mean, don't Udall and Gillibrand understand how Congress works?

3. Apparently you don't know how this works, buddy...
there is no statute or law or wahtever that says the DOJ has to appeal this decision...they can just say fine, the judge is right and do NOTHING...take a look at what Jerry Brown and Ah-nuld are doing in california, REFUSING to appeal the decision...the DOJ does NOT HAVE TO APPEAL...get it????
