41 Obama White House aides owe the IRS $831,000 in back taxes -- and they're not alone
Over the years a lot of suspicion has built up across the country about Washington and its population of opportunistic transients coming to see themselves as a special kind of person, somehow above average working Americans who don't labor down in that monument-strewn former swamp.

Well, finally, an end to all those undocumented doubts. Thanks to some diligent digging by the Washington Post, those suspicions can at last be put to rest.

They're correct. Accurate. Dead-on. Laser-guided. On target. Bingo-bango. As clear as it's always seemed to those Americans who don't feel special entitlements and do meet their government obligations.

We now know that federal employees across the nation owe fully $1 billion in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.

As in, 1,000 times one million

1. Maybe they are having financial difficulties and need a payment plan.
It happens.

2. and retired military owe 1.5 billion

I call bullshit.

"owed" "delinquent"

Does it meant that they owed the taxes at the end of the tax year or they were seriously delinquent.

It could simply mean that the payroll deduction wasn't enough and they had to write a check at the end of the year.

3. Soooo....if that's true, why doesn't the IRS collect the money?

It's not like thhey don't know where they are! I won't say it's not true, but I question the details. You know. the devil is always...well you know. There are many things that can be construed as back taxes. Disputed claims, legal extensions, etc.

Rarely is anything as it really appears.

4. It's nothing to them because it's 4.81 days of war funding
$831,000 @ $2,000/sec (http://costofwar.com) = 415500 seconds

415500 seconds divided by 60 = 6925 minutes

6925 minutes divided by 60 = 115.42 hours

115.42 hours divided by 24 = 4.81

The $831,000 represents 4.81 days of war funding 8,000 miles away (hoping I got the math right, I cheated on math tests)

Not excusing the "oversight" by our rulers, this is how little they value the $

5. This is bullshit dressed up with ambiguous facts.
The intention of which appears to be to buttress rightwing anti-tax anti "gummint" idiocy.
