29. It's big in these parts (my small redneck--I mean repub--village)
Teeny weeny cheerleaders that are mini-mes of the big girls. Because of course you need them to cheer for the teeny weeny football team whose players are wider than they are tall when they've got all their gear on. It's VERY IMPORTANT in this village o' mine to get them on the "proper" track (read: football coolness) way early.

For the record, my son takes soccer lessons on Saturday mornings (halfheartedly) and doesn't give a rat's ass about the football clique. And if I had a daughter she'd be a cheerleader over my dead body.

"My back is achin'
My belt's too tight
My booty shakin'
From left to right!"

4. Cheer leading Moms can be as bad as Soccer Moms
I saw this with my daughters:
Cheer leading
Baton Twirling
Beauty Contest

You name it, there are mothers who are vicious and will do anything so their daughter has a better chance of being the star.

Glad my daughters are old enough to be out of those things.

14. In my day,
cheerleading didn't occur until Junior High. We had tap dancing and baton which was so fun...no competition. We just put on shows for the school. We worked as a team to put on a great show to entertain people.

I find the sexualization of these young girls very disturbing...but if TPTB want young girls to believe that is all they are good for, then that is exactly what is going to happen. And if a parent stands up to FIGHT this, then she/he is wrong. Because after all, that's all girls are good for. That is the message...and Fox and all the other MSM are doing a very good job of getting that message out there today.

Watch any of today's sitcoms (if you can stomach them) and see that message...LOUD and clear.

It is night and day for girls/women growing up today vs. when I grew up. We actually thought what was inside a person was more important than 'looks.'

Goddess, I am so sick our culture. :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

5. The coach & parents who voted the girl off sound like sociopaths.
During the discussion another parent moved to remove the girl and another seconded it.

Quote from coach Lisa Ernest: 'I'm directly quoting this lunatic. She said, "I don’t mind the booty shaking so much, but it's the back aching and the skirt being too tight I don’t understand,"' Ms Ernest told a local radio station.

7. My daughter tried cheerleading at age 5 -
and hated it. There are private sports leagues in the suburbs, not terribly expensive, for kids to play in when they're ages 4-12 or so. The "cheerleaders" were learning basic cheers and supporting the flag football boys (also aged 4-8). She was mad at me & wanted to know why she couldn't be on the field playing football. :) So, that was the end of the cheerleading. She is playing soccer and basketball currently and likes them much better.

28. Good for her!
My cousin makes clothing for women who play basketball, or at least did, as there is (was?) a durth of clothing for tall, lean women.

Glad to hear your girl has more sense than the cheerleaders!

BTW... does girls' sports have boys for cheerleaders then?

9. The parents are prudes..
talking to Faux News, complaining about a cheer that's been around for years. They could easily have kept their mouths shut and just removed their kid from cheerleading, but no...it's clear they have an agenda.

12. They are PRUDES????
Because they were not happy about a 6 YEAR OLD chanting about booty-shaking and shirt skirts????

OK...I am an open guy that likes porn more than most and has an epic sex life (on the Internet we are all over sexed lol) - but the idea of a squad of 6 year old girls chanting about their 'sore backs' (WTF is that about in relation to a 6yo??), short skirts and booty shaking (WTF - 6 year old booty shaking?) is beyond even what I find acceptable - And I go to 4chan several times a day.

The over sexualizing of kids is becoming an epidemic and you do not have to be a prude.

There may be more to the story as why the kid was removed from the team, but to suggest that it is OK for 6 year olds to strut around chanting about short skirts, sore backs and booty shaking (as for the around for years part of your post, the VA state song referred to 'this old darkies heart' - so that is OK since it has been around for years?????) is sort of strange.

The girls played soccer, flag football and swim team. Cheerleading in these parts is like joining a cult so we didn't even make it an option.

As I tell my kid....go and find the Drama Club and the Band. They are the best people to be friends with since they (usually) have been ostracized and know the pain - therefore they are much more accepting, cool and friendly.

Everyone who has picked up a ball is a guaranteed jerk and everyone with a tuba knows the pain of rejection.

Any other stereotypes you wanna pass on to the next generation?

18. Of all the groups that I have had in restaurants in the
past 33 years, only Amway is worse than cheergirls. Not because of the little darlings but because of the parents. They should have gotten rid of the cheer not a little girl. Prudes living their lives vicariously through their children.

Cheerleading is seen as nerdy. Sports and academics are popular.

Who the FUCK thought that was appropriate in the first place? I'm not particularly in favor of kids that young being sucked into the path to slutdom, no matter how you look at it, that wording is just wrong. Simple as that - wrong. I have three daughters by the way.
