What is the conventional wisdom there on her chances?

1. No Chance
She's peaked and she she is about to fall on her 119 million dollar sword. YMMV.

2. 'I voted for Arnold because I thought it would be cool to have the Terminator as Governor'
Actual on the street quote from Der Gropenfuhrer's first 'election.'

Fucking California.

3. I hope there is no chance
But never underestimate CA voters. We vote for some of the dumbest things imaginable.

4. I'm actually worried.
We have too many people here in my county who think government should be run like a business. Whitman's ads appeal to that erroneous meme. As much as I try to explain to them that govt. doesn't produce a product or a profit so running it as a business gets us into a recession and we have the Bush and Arnold years both in Washington and California to prove it, but I don't know how convincing I am. Their eyes mostly glaze over like I'm a mad woman.

5. I think Whitman is the wave of the future...
where public office will be bought and sold by the highest bidder. Californian's like being on the bleeding edge of things. .

8. Probably.
Just as we have more than our share of serial killers, we have more than our share of braindead idiots -- mostly to the far north, the Central Valley, and Orange, Riverside, Kern, and San Diego Counties. That's a lot of land, dominated by a lot of idiots.

And if the hateful sow wins, the map will look something like this (orange = Brown, green = Whitless):

But I'm actually more worried about losing Barbara Boxer this year. Very worried. Not only would it kill me to lose BB, but Fiorina will sink California like she sank HP.

That, and it'd mean the better of my two Senators would be Dianne Feinstein. How's that for a depressing thought?

If there's a surprise upset of Anna Eshoo (CA-14), I may draw the blinds and hide under my bed for a few years.
