My mom said WBAL has reported that the gunman at John Hopkins hospital is dead.
The doctor he shot is in surgery and is expected to survive. No word yet on a motive, but he was apparently in a room with a relative at the time.

in the hospital are dead. Doctor is in surgery with a stomach wound. They do think the doctor will survive.

Sad all the way around.

2. At MSNBC they had a news conference.
The guy was angry about how his Mom was treated, he shot a doctor, (who sounds like will live,) then he killed his Mom, and then killed himself.

5. How logical can you get? So he treats him mom "better" by killing her?
Boggles the mind.

"Guglielmi said the doctor, who was not identified, had non-life-threatening abdominal injuries."

6. It is called a "telephone" and she doesn't have call waiting, callerID, or voicemail.
Unfortunately, she does watch FOX. FORTUNATELY, she was listening to WBAL in the car.

13. Now "telephone" is not an accepted DU link unless there is a YouTube video of it.
If there is no link or no video how do we know it really happened? How can we be sure that you really have a mother? :bounce:

8. Isn't this a great country?
Anyone can carry a gun anywhere, even into a hospital because you just never know when it will come in handy.

And spare any righteous claims that had the doctor been armed he'd have shot the guy first.

10. Yeah, but he MIGHT have had a needle with a Tetanus syrum in it.
Those fuckers always make me swell up. I take an ice pack with me if I'm going to get one. It sort of helps. Still, I wouldn't shoot anyone over it.

11. "Anyone can carry a gun anywhere"
Really?

Because there are lots of places you can't carry firearms or so I thought.

I don't see how this is a gun issue.
