He said that the Republicans know that the right wing crazies who won Primaries are "flakes" and we have to back the Dems to keep "these flakes" out of office.
He also said that they aren't new or fresh. They're the same old right wing religious hacks that have been around a long time. They just happen to finally win some primaries this time.
I hope that there's a video of this exchange very soon. He was terrific.

4. Yeah, he can say more colorful things than the Dems or even the media |
|
He's way outside of all - especially the evangelical realm.

2. He also said the RW was a "fund raising organization" (or something similar) not |
|
a political organization.
I keep saying I'm going to get that book and I keep forgetting. I'm heading to Amazon now!

6. I took him to mean that the RW church is the fund raiser |
|
As if that's what they're really all about. Pretty damning stuff from a guy who was way inside that world.

7. I always listen to what he has to say |
|
Because he spent a lifetime in the belly of the beast. He KNOWS their mindset.
I look forward to the video when it comes out.

it was eye opening. I also read "The Family" - it really got to me and I never finished reading that. All very scary. My opinion is that we should all work very hard so these weirdo's don't destroy this country. God Bless America!

11. The Family was that scary? Wow! |
|
I've been meaning to read it but you know how it is when you have a big stack waiting on the nightstand. Maybe I'll download the first chapter via Kindle and see if I can handle it.
You've peaked my curiosity about it and Frank Schaeffer's book, too.

13. I'd love to see an hour-long show with him as the only guest. |
|
He is exceptional, having lived on both sides of the coin. Problem is, the interview should be on some other station than MSNBC so that more Republicans see it.
That was a great segment tonight.

15. It won't happen because... |
|
Republicans generally only watch Fox News and even Shep Smith couldn't bring him on. The best one could hope for is AC 360, Larry King, or Charlie Rose.
