Part of me wants ODonnell to win this November so she can represent the true nature of
the tea partiers in Washington. I think it would be informative. But there would be a chance they would totally 'handle' her and her performance would improve. But I think not.

What happened to leadership? Ideas? Cause?

5. I have wondered that since Obama took office. I also wonder why
the lack of that from the gop has been acceptable.

8. policy appeals that our party favors are complicated and often divisive
The republicans (and their minions) don't have time or interest to bother with all of that. When policy appeals are ignored they turn to 'value' issues and bogeymen.

here's Huckabee and Romney: http://www.latimes.com/topic/politics/government/mitt-romney-PEPLT007376.topic

"Ours is not so much a fiscal crisis, it's a family crisis," former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee told the group. "There is a direct correlation between the stability of the family and stability of our country."

Romney: "I'm afraid that some in Washington today are driven by such different values that they would change the very character of America."

9. So they introduce pablum, signifying nothing. I'm so not
surprised. Why do these words appease people, and should Dems do the same? My problem is that I like that we are trying to fix problems, not trying to appease.

And hello, bigtree. Long time.

2. You already have that idiot Michele Bachmann doing that
and it doesn't seem like anybody in her district has bothered to notice just how batshit crazy she is.

11. In defense of the 6th district (which is not where I live)
Bachmann has only won with pluralities, not majorities - so a majority of the voters in her district have not voted for her.

Unfortunately, that could happen again this year.

3. But she already won the Primary so that has already been shown
but if she actually gets elected they will claim they make up a majority of that type.

4. If you want O'Donnell to improve, send her back to school.
I want a functioning government that isn't consumed with impeaching Obama on some trumped up charge when they aren't enshrining the ten commandments into law or forcing women who want an abortion to go to church.

7. It would destroy her
these people think its so easy to be a public servent. It has to be one of the most stressful jobs around. Every tea bagger would be destroyed by the job, including O'Donnell and Palin. They do not have the will or the fortitude. Palin couldnt even cut it as a govener, why does she think she can be president?

20. Wrong. We had one President with Alzheimers
and another, George W., who was a dry drunk with a personality disorder.

You don't have to be mentally healthy to rise to the top in politics.

or there was a sarcasm emoticon missing. I'd rather have Lieberman as my senator than dipshit O'Donnell, and I can't stand and don't trust him.

the course of 2 years show she can be a train wreck. Obviously I don't live in De. I don't even live in the USA. I am canadian. You caught me.

Heavens to betsy, applegrove. Perish the thought!

That's like saying you'd like to watch someone push the nuclear button just once so you could experience what it would be like.

17. LOL... she is self-destructing over Murkowsky having gotten back
in the race... She badly needs her boy, Miller to win to advance her status as a "player"... WOrd is that she is also becoming antsy about all the attention O'Donnell is getting.

So, you might not have to wait so long for that bit of schadenfreude. ;)

15. The best thing to do is beat her
Remember, the ONLY way that these people know how to operate is by doubling down on the crazy.

Beating them is not going to make them stop, it's only going to make them believe that they weren't extreme enough to win.

That creates a feeding frenzy; eating their own, more crazy platforms, stupider people thinking that they can do better at it.

Winning is the very worst thing for the Teabaggers, it'll make them complacent.

If we want more exposure about their craziness, then we need to stop them from becoming successful candidates.

They'll get mad, scare as many decent folks as possible and THAT will create a backlash against them.

They are outsiders who need to stay on the outside.

23. We had 8 years of the GWB train wreck
yet Americans are ready to place in power again the very same GOPers who where with him 100%.
Why do you think they will pay any attention to a new Senator from a small State.
Will will already have Paul from Ky, maybe Angle from NV and Miller from Ak.
Plus a large chunk of Congress Teabaggers. America will yawn and continue to listen to Beck and Limbaugh.
