If we can't even agree on what we disagree about, what hope is there?

This was originally going to be a post about the one silver lining of the Republicans doing well in September would be less intercenine warfare on DU, but I'm not going to write that post, because I can't work out a way of characterising the two sides that wouldn't offend at least one of them..

Pro-Obama and anti-Obama? pragmatists and idealists? centrists and progressives? moderates and extremists? pro-democratic and anti-democratic? supporters and opponents of the current government? liberals and DLCers? All of those seem implicitly biased one way or the other, and I'm betting that at least someone will disagree with any formulation anyone proposes as neutral...

I dismissed a few of the worst, and my DU experience has been greatly enhanced. Kind of like it must be living in a gated community:tinfoilhat:

Edited on Sat Sep-18-10 12:49 AM by pitohui
my current mantra (to be honest i have to admit i'm way more blown away by obama than i ever expected to be so i'm just not getting "people" -- i think he's doing a great job...) all we can do is move forward and recognize the racist haters were ALWAYS gonna be racist haters

11. Come off it.
Do you really think that the split between the two camps on DU can be explained in those terms? If so, which camp do you think is which?

10. Democrats do this all the time, but when we percieve a common enemy,
we usually come together and vote them out...this year the GOP is its own worst enemy, and I'm beginning to see the Democrats start working together to defeat them.

After that, who knows?

But it was ever thus.
