I believe repubs are ashamed of being known as repubs.

Recently I have been driving and walking the area here where I live and noticed something which I find a bit odd. Out of all the yard signs for candidates, not one republican has the "R" logo or the word republican on their signs. Examples. Seng, a guy who is running for the Iowa Senate, Democrat in big letters, Braley, who should get re-elected as our Congressman, Democrat in big bold letters where his opponent, Ben Lange has no party affiliation whatsoever listed on his over sized signs. A guy named Ambrose, who lives about three blocks from me, running for Iowa House in this district, no party affiliation on his signs although it is well known he is a republican to the core. His opponent, the incumbent, Cindy Winckler has signs and literature proudly proclaiming she is a Democrat.
Now I thought that maybe this was just something the Iowa repubs were doing so I went across the river into Illinois to investigate further. Sure enough, republican candidates didn't have any thing on their signs which said "Republican" or even a logo. So the conclusion one should draw from this is that the republican candidates must be ashamed to be known as republicans, even though it is common knowledge who the Dems are and who the repubs are. Is this odd leaving off the party affiliation just in this area or is it everywhere? I'd like to know.

3. There are few Republicans left around this parts.

They've all morphed into teabaggers. Almost all candidates for local office who will have an R behind their name at on the ballot are baggers (with the possible exception of one guy who the baggers support, non the less). Even the candidates for state senate and house are baggers. Pure, unadulterated baggers. Even though they are running as Republicans, I don't think they consider themselves Republicans.

Here, they have pissing contests over who is "the most conservative." Few candidates even put their party affiliation on their signs here. In many cases,it's not even necessary, since the repugs often run unopposed. Not much of a Democratic party in this shithole of a state.

9. It's been that way around here for years. With the likes of taft and boner and their

friends in the coin scandal, no one wants to admit they voted for them. I honestly think that's where the teabaggers came from. repugs too embarrassed to admit they were repugs.
