Any DUers going to the Stewart/Colbert rally?

I think it would be fun. Did not travel to DC for Iraq War protests or inauguration, but I don't suppose a Greyhound ticket from Ohio would be too expensive.

I'm going to be in NYC during that time and could easily fly down for the day.

I'm going to wait to be sure their permit is approved before I make any reservations.

I'd probably drive from NH... a long drive, but one I've done once before for a protest against (here I go, dating myself) Reagan when I was in college.

Back then another college put up a bunch of us from my college in a dorm overnight. This time I'll have to find a hotel. I already know two nearby friends who want to go, plus someone I used to know in high school back in NJ. When she saw my Facebook post about the rally, said she'd like me to pick her up on the way down.

I'm thinking of finding someplace to stay just outside DC that has reasonable commuter rail access. It would help for planning if I knew what time on 10/30 the rally is supposed to begin.

At any rate, it sounds like it'll be a lot of fun, and I'd love helping to be part of a big crowd that totally outclasses Beck's nitwit rabble.

7. I actually think visuals are important unfortunately in our image obsessed culture...

And it appears even Beck has realized the visuals from his "I see old white people wearing period clothing & carrying Teabonics signs" is not good for attracting the demographics the GOP needs to not be relegated to the "Not enough old white people from the South to Win National Elections"

8. Got A Good Deal At

Hotel Monaco last night, airfare reserved at a reasonable rate as well. My old sorority sister and I are ready to roll (and have a great mini pampering vacation in DC).
