Travel writers visiting beaches on BP's dime
What does it take to get a half dozen travel writers to Navarre Beach?

Six travel writers — chauffeured around in a limo — are on Navarre Beach this weekend to get the word out that this summer’s BP oil spill is over…

“From now on in, we’re not going to mention oil, unless it comes back,” Wilkes said. “In our advertisements, the message is that the beaches are beautiful, but, also, it’s that there is more to do.”

Interestingly, none of the writers plans to do any indepth reporting and all plan to write glowing accounts of how everything is now safe and fine. Oh did I mention they received "part of $551,000 from BP, some of which also funded a voucher program which gave gift cards to tourists"?

Who pays real journalists to go take a look? Who pays for the clean-up that is needed rather than the cover-up? Who pays the local citizens to come forward with glowing accounts of how clean their beaches are? because all I see is locals videotaping tarballs and sheen and complaining about illnesses. They don't get limo rides to the beach and deluxe condos for three day vacations. They live with the daily effects of BP's cover-up of problems.

Yeah ...
and I've been swimming in the water

I'm sure they'll also include the lab tests of the water too. Right.
