"The MSM won't cover it. No one will know it happened."

"Rallies and marches are SO sixties."

"No way will more than a few thousand people show up."

"It may rain."

"The time could be better spent at a phone bank or going door to door for a candidate."

"Tea Party/Klan security agents will be scanning retinas and sending brain-eating androids to the homes of all identified participants 72 hours after the march ends." (OK---THAT ONE was bogus!)

Mrs. Atticus and I intend to buck "conventional wisdom" and attend. I'll be the wise and distinguished-looking man covering his gray hair with a DU cap and Mrs. A will be the BABE.

Hope to see a LOT of you there.

2. MSM WILL cover it! They have no choice if it's anywhere near the size that
is predicted. Ed on MSNBC has been promoting it & stupid Mr. Gold on FOX has been belitteling it for weeks already, so it will be covered. You may think it's so 60's but marches and large gatherings still gain media attention and that IS important!

7. I totally agree. Those were reasons people have given me as to why I am a fool
to drive half way across the country to participate in yet another Democratic/liberal rally.

Obviously, we are disregarding their advice. They will regret not participating in an event that will demonstrate the vitality of progressives as a component of the electorate.

3. Capatalization of Lot again.
People use the 'someones lot in life' concept to support status quo and to support they should be were they are.

Answer this.

What is a person's 'lot' for tomorrow... Then argue what someones lot is.

The claim to it being a person's lot in any situation, is to get someone to have no empathy for others, and to be able to think they are where they are suppose to be, when many people are in places because of free will choices of people around them.

If you use 'lot' to label anyone's place, or your own, you are making an excuse for not thinking about what is best.

Using the concept of 'lot' to define someones future destiny, missunderstands the entire concept. By any understanding of that concept it is saying someones position tomorrow can dramatically change, as much as it is saying it could be the same. If you use lot to define someones path, you don't understand the concept.

And for those that continue to strive for what is right even in difficulty.

4. Yeah, the MSM will cover it: "Reports are that a few thousand
protestors were present", "While thousands were expected, the turnout was disappointing", etc. etc. etc, topped of by Fux running photos of some Teabag rally where 75 people were present.

14. People should go. I'm more worried about the Stewart/Colbert rally at the end of October --

if it ends up with visuals of umpteen privileged hipsters dressing up as teabaggers "ironically" it will kill the Dems' chances in the last crucial days.

However, I am pretty hopeful someone will take control of it in time -- I remember when Obama gave his speech in Berlin -- I expected the typical Berlin demonstration, which tends to include far too many people dressed in S&M gear carrying around banners with the hammer and sickle on them -- turned out, the Berliners were careful to look "normal" and there was nothing carried except for little American flags.

15. I agree it won't be covered like the few hundred who attend
the tea bag rallies. I am looking for the rabids to show up and start trouble and then blame the marchers. You know like ditzbat Angle blamed Reid for the tea bags starting a fight at their meeting. The republicans with the help of the MSM are going to turn everything around just wait and see. I do wish I was there. If I still lived in Maryland I would be.

various RW marches in DC...

I hope all you you who wish to can attend, especially a lot of young people. The media sxeems to think Liberals/Progressives/Democrats are disinterested in the outcome of this election - even the Democratic Party big shots seem to think that. Let's change some minds Saturday. It will be a BEAUTIFUL DAY - Please try to be there!

We need every smiling face for the TV cameras! And for each other!

In other words, sounds like a gorgeous early fall day.

22. And in DC, that's a TRUE 70.
As in, one with very little wind and comfortable for walking.

What's great is when you get these 60+ degree DC days in late November. SUCH a relief from Ohio winter and slush.
