Helicopters and cops all over the place.

It isn't fun to be here right now.

Do me a favor and bear that in mind when you post the funny/dismissive stuff.

OK, on edit: this was a hoax, and they've sounded the all-clear.

Jeez.

2. We had a suspicious package in Alexandria, VA today too
It kept one of our metro stops from openning.

But appears to be just a backpack and some suitcases.

6. It really makes me angry when people just blow stuff off
These same people would be screaming if the authorities shrugged it off and there was a dirty bomb etc. The more hoaxes the more people stop paying attention. We have pissed off alot of people in the world with the bush administration's actions. How long before some guy who watched his entire family killed by our forces decides its time for some payback?

I'd rather have them over react then to ignore it, because one of these times it won't be fake. Boston is very diverse with LOTS of colleges that attract students from other countries. It would be very easy to blend in here if you wanted to cause havoc.

8. Hell, a whole slew of bin Laden family members were here
until a few hours after 9/11. Yes, a diverse city with lots of cool stuff to blow up...just like lots of other cities.

15. You know, I haven't been following this story, until just now.
but when I was in grad school, I had friends at MIT and I agree with you wholeheartedly.

In a different climate, it would be funny, but now it's not.
