If these would have been bombs our government would have gotten caught with their thumbs up their asses yet again. We are no safer then we were on 9/11.

I just feel bad for everyone who has to commute tonight. The Longfellow Bridge is the main spur from Boston to Cambridge on the Red Line train, Storrow Drive is a major road, and I-93 is basically the femoral artery for traffic in and out of the city (that's where the Big Dig is). It's gonna suck.

Edited on Wed Jan-31-07 04:05 PM by higher class
public housing in New Orleans. That's big. And worthy of deflection.

I just barely caught it on Democracy Now. Lawyer, Bill Quigley with the very sad news. Showed images of construction workers putting up a fence around one or more of the buildings and former residents walking down the road - reminisces of Germany, Poland, Eastern Europe, and Russia.

Quigley emphasized that the buildings are sound. Sounds like they are going to develop there and it will never more be affordable to these people.

More indications that the non-response to the disaster was because of planning how to take advantage of the situation for the rich (and to demolish a voting block).

Sounds like Nagin is a loser. What about Blanco? Where was she?

I say the bombs are deflection for the WH, the trial, and New Orleans. Amid the overall deflection to arrange another invasion.

Someone please help us and the people of Iran.

34. It really isn't funny
terrorism

noun
the calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear

These people who did this, even if it was a joke, could under our new laws be hauled off and never heard from again.

If Bush says they are terrorists they're history!

46. The conundrum of Exploiting 'Terror" - media, pranksters, neocons, et. al.
It's a fascinating sociological conundrum. I think it's past arguable that the Global-Corporatist Zealots in the current corrupt administration want the people 'terrorized.' If only to tell us to go shopping and keep the money-pump going for the profiteers. The Corporate Media, acting as propaganidsts and P/R operations for the profiteers, engage in the tabloidism of 'Terror! Terror! ... doing wall-to-wall coverage of the most vacuous stories.

To pretend that they're not attracting publicity-hungry "pranksters" would be insane. I fail to discern a moral distinction between "pranksters" and "dirty-tricksters." The C$M might as well be sending out engraved invitations.

"Terror" gets air time. Every Rambo wannabe gets face-time. The SOTU was a litany of frauds related to "prevented" incidents.

We're getting exactly what we deserve ... "American Idol" and "People Magazine" and "Terror!" Bread and circuses. And we don't even have to get up from our couches.
