Many people don't....in particular Edwards supporters, as this is their way of explaining that the Dem '04 ticket losing had nothing whatsoever to do with Edwards. :shrug:

14. Vice Presidents are important on a ticket. What went wrong with Edwards is that...

...they used him to go to rural areas and wanted to have him address people and stay out of the media more. They didn't want him overshadowing Kerry. It wasn't Edwards, it was how they used him, that went wrong.

21. No, I'm speaking in general terms.

That came out after the 2004 election that they intentionally kept him out of the mass media and that was one of Edwards' problems.

Looking at Edwards' "home" county demonstrates nothing to the contrary because many will never win their "home" counties because their home is more conservative. Further, many in North Carolina as a whole resented Edwards' decision to run because they saw it as political opportunism that he didn't even finish his first term before running.
