Some thoughts on voting, hillary, obama, jesus, whoever
It is not my place to tell others whom they should vote, so I don't plan on it here. But I did have some thoughts on it I hope others may find a bit insightful.

I can understand why some say they won't vote for hillary, they see her as bush with a dress and makeup on perhaps - ie, she seems to be more of dino like lieberman was.

But here is my take on it all. When it comes down to it I am not really voting for that one person. I am voting for the party I believe has the best chance to fix this country. The president has limited powers - one of the big ones we need a dem for is Supreme court justices and other appointees. Even if you don't like Hillary, she will be appointing fellow democrats. We need a warm body in there to help us secure power in all 3 branches of government if we want things to change.

I have seen all the threads like 'would you vote dem if the candidate was hitler or jeb bush' - but to me the reality is that Hillary is not as bad as any of those other folks, and if someone was truly not a democrat in any way shape or form I think the voters would be smart enough (since they are dem voters in the primaries....) that such a person would be toast. If not, then it probably wouldn't matter how ya voted cause that person was probably so charismatic that everyone would vote for em.

My goal is to get and keep democratic party members in power. The good and the bad ones, cause we will always have some we don't like or see as too far right. But in the big mix of it all, most will be more liberal and help to influence those who are not.

I don't see Pelosi caving into Hillary's demands if they are right leaning. And without congress the president won't be doing a whole lot. Our dems in congress will help keep them in check - and better to keep a fellow dem in check than a republican who does not like your party anyway.

I am voting for our party. And I can understand why some think a third party might be better so they can at least have a clear mind that they did not vote for something they saw as bad - and think about it, you wouldn't have voted for the IWR even if it had been proposed and pushed by dems. Some folks want a clear conscience and they get that by using their vote to vote against something rather than for something.

The only problem with that though is we the people are like the congress at election time. We each stand up and have our say on the 'bill' being proposed and then we either vote for it or against it - but like some bills there are riders attached, things we really want to see pass and need passed. So we compromise and vote for the whole thing so we can get what we want, even if it means we get something we don't; all in hopes that with our power we can later get rid of the thing we didn't want.

Vote how you wish. I am voting for my whole party, because deep down I believe our party is the right one and we need all the members in power we can get.

1. The only problem with this OP, as I see it

is the assumption that a Hillary Nomination is anything close to a foregone conclusion. It's not. In fact, corporate media promotional circuses notwithstanding, I think it's extremely unlikely that she'll be the nominee. So not to worry. And either way, there's gonna be a lot of time in which to convince folks to hold their noses and vote for someone they may find objectionable.

Personally, I'm not too worried about folks on the Dean wing supporting a DLC or "centrist"- when push comes to shove, they pretty much always do. I'd be much more interested to see how many of the DLC types who screech about "unity" would jump ship if they were faced with, say, a Kucinich nomination.

2. I agree with you
I don't see it as a foregone conclusion, and my OP really applies to any candidate X that some say would run them off to a 3rd party :)
