On Any Given Tuesday....
Edited on Sun Oct-31-10 09:24 PM by ddeclue
All the right wing corporatist media has been claiming for months this election is already over, prematurely declaring a Republican landslide and telling you not to bother.

Yet just tonight, ABC News quietly reported a dramatic closing of the polling gap between Democrats and Republicans from 53 to 40 R to D to now 49 to 45 R to D.

This is the generic poll of who are you going to vote for for Congress, not your particular Congressman but merely a generic choice between D and R. The reality is that most people like their actual Congressman better than the generic abstract one that pollsters use.

The generic gap is now just 4 points.

That's basically Margin Of Error.

Any good campaign that turns out the vote by knocking and dragging, by calling the voters and calling them and calling again can push a race 5 points one way or the other.

Don't listen to these idiotic talking heads that want to take us back to the good ol' bad ol' days when there was no unemployment insurance, no civil rights, no social security, no college loan, and when the middle class was few and far between and upward mobility was non existent.

Don't give up! They want you to quit. They want you to lose.

In fact, they are being paid large sums of money to convince you that it is hopeless and to stay home.

It is NOT hopeless and they know that. In fact they live in FEAR that we might find out the truth and are constantly trying to distract us from paying attention with "reality" TV, lurid crimes and celebrity gossip shows and by providing us with FakesNews propaganda 24/7.

The reality is that if you don't vote you can't win.

But if you do go vote you can.

I spent the last 4 weekends knocking and phoning in both Florida and Virginia.

Tomorrow night I'll be on the phones one last time calling for Alan Grayson.

Take Tuesday off from work if you can. Step up to the line and help us win this election by volunteering at a campaign.

Join me.

Don't just vote. Take Tuesday off. Spend tomorrow night burning up the phone getting out that vote. Go knock on doors and drag your friends out to vote.

I leave you with the Al Pacino's locker room speech from Any Given Sunday:

We too must fight as a team or die as individuals.

We too must win inch by inch - in politics we win vote by vote.

You must go vote.

Your vote matters.

Your friends votes matter.

Vote!

4. Great OP.
I will sign up to call tomorrow night for Grayson and Russ Feingold. I think they can do it with a little more help.

Republicans are NOT going to win the Senate. It's almost impossible for them to do so. So all this talk by pundits is just talk.

I am betting on the Senate Dems ending up with 54 seats, but at worst, they will have 51.

The House is more difficult to predict obviously. But I'm going to look at the stats tonight and I bet they tell a whole different story than we hearing from the media.

Good for you for keeping up the fight right to the end.

:kick: & rec.
