1. I think we can...
but the M$N and their landline only polls are trying mightily to convince you otherwise.

7. Yes I think there is a chance we keep the House
On one hand, politically, I wouldn't mind the GOP winning the house so much as then they would actually have to do some governing and, since we know they won't, 2012 should be a cakewalk to get back into power.

On the other hand, I really, really, really, really, really, really, really want the talking heads and so-called experts to be wrong just to see what excuses they come up with as to why they were wrong.

13. It Was Going To Be Tough No Matter...
As we've seen here on DU, not all Democrats are the same. Many who won in '06 and '08 won in purple and red districts. This included a lot of Blue Dogs who are the most endangered tomorrow. The GOTB had screwed up so bad that Democrats won many districts despite, not because of what they stood for...and some of them decided to play rushpublican lite. That game will end tomorrow night.

The deal is the economy...this administration and the Democrats own it. People aren't happy and many are gonna use this election to make a "statement". Unfortunately many will vote stupid and go for the party that created this mess...swallowing the talking points and lies without a second thought.

That said, I don't think Democrats will lose all the seat the "pundits" think they will. However, they will lose seats and in some cases the losses won't be felt (so long Gene Taylor and Bart Stupak) and the rushpublicans will be under the spotlight and on the clock. If they overplay their hand...which I expect...they'll once again be held accountable...especially if gridlock sets in.

While I detest the though of Boner holding the Speaker's gavel...I also see it as a wake-up call to Democrats...both in the House and the "rank and file" as to putting together a better selling job in '10 and beyond and to get some focus. This country desperately needs it.

17. I hate to say it but I seriously doubt it. Too many vulnerable seats
keep in mind that we picked up over 50 seats in the past two elections. Those are Districts that have recently elected repubs and where incumbency is not a guarantee of reelection. As a result, we are particularly vulnerable in those districts. We also have a number of other districts where incumbency has helped in the past, but the Democratic incumbent is retiring. In short, there are well over 60 seats where we are vulnerable. We wont lose them all, but losing between 40 and 50 seems very likely.

18. I think there is a good chance.
Right from the beginning, repugs have been hammering that they had the votes to take over. It makes people think Why bother voting? If people vote, I think we stay right where we are.

19. Yes. There are 40+ toss up seats that are really too close to call...
...even though many of the poll averages and analysts have them as likely Republicant.

If our momentum is strong enough going into this election, we'll hold serve. I think we may even get some pleasant surprises in Alaska, Nevada, and Wisconsin.

20. Almost zero
Here's the ugly facts.... of the seats considered to be in play, 135 of them are currently held by Democrats and 16 by Republicans. Of those 16 GOP seats, only four are toss-up or better for us.

This election is being fought almost entirely on our turf; the only question yet to be decided is how bad the losses will be. I estimate low end around 45 and high end about 75 seats.

The Senate we should keep, by a few votes, not like it matters with the filibuster what it has become.

It will be tight but I personally believe that the democratic numbers will be slightly higher than the mainstream polls anticipate.

I don't see this as an anti-Democratic vote as an anti-incumbent vote. We have more incumbents so we will likely lose more than they will.

Also, a lot of our recent wins were by slim margins and often in red districts. They will be hard to hold onto.

30. Sure there is.
For Dems, it's all about turnout. If we could get anything like '08 turnout, we keep it.

The real question is why so many potential Dem voters stay home for anything less than a Presidential election.

34. It seems highly unlikely....
and while a GOP controlled House and a Republican Speaker is a vomit-inducing thought, given the current political and economic climate, holding the Senate is pretty amazing. The country will not concede that the GOP should be running things. Obama will be re-elected and the worse case scenario is a GOP controlled House after 2012. Hopefully, the country will return the House to the Dems in 2012. We shall see.

I think the best we can hope for is to keep it under 50. On the Senate side, I think we win WV, IL, WA and CA and the GOTV will pull at least one of the other seats in our favor, likely PA.

38. I am hoping that the Americans who put Obama in office

realize they have to have his back if anything is to be accomplished.

Perhaps most Americans understand now that Republicans are the party of "no," of Big Business.

So I am hoping that only a few freak Teabaggers are going to get through.

Let's hope I'm right. I will grieve if I'm wrong.
