More Doublespeak From MICC
unhappycamper note: Since the ‘Pentagon’ (Righthaven LLC? Gannett?) has ‘requested’ that I only post one paragraph from articles on Army Times, and Airforce Times, To keep in that same (new) tradition, I will also do the same for for articles on Navy Times, Marine Corps Times, stripes.com and military.com.
To read the article in the military's own words, you will need to click the link.

Read all about Fair Use here. It sure is beginning to smell like fascism.

unhappycamper summary of this article: How does one "reinvest some of those savings back into other defense programs?" Seriously.

Come on. You guys have $5.3 billion dollar destroyers. You're currently building a $40 billion dollar aircraft carrier. And the $243 million dollar F-35 is a piece of shit. Your $1.7 billion dollar LPDs are having shitloads of problems and the coating is falling off your $4 billion dollar submarines.

“If Republicans take over the House, I’m certainly less worried about major defense spending cuts,” said Mackenzie Eaglen, research fellow for national security studies at the conservative Heritage Foundation. “We’ll still see efforts to reign in wasteful spending, but they’ll want to reinvest some of those savings back into other defense programs.”

2. The MICC is too big to fail.
And too big to cut any spending...unless they can reinvest the savings in themselves.
We have created a beast and it will turn on us unless it is continuously fed.
