Could Stewart/Colbert rally be reason for MSNBC's stark shift in tone today?
Edited on Mon Nov-01-10 08:46 AM by Atman
As late as last Friday, all the usual subjects on MSNBC, including their lopsided number of GOP "experts," were much less sanguine about their prospects. Even Joe was admitting that the Dems had turned things around a lot, and maybe the House wasn't a done deal. Across the panel, all week, this was the theme. But this morning, after the largest rally Washington has seen in quite some time (and yes, it was MUCH larger than Beck's -- I was there, I saw it with my own eyes), suddenly EVERY segment is about "total devastation," "tidal waves," "hurricane vote," and the like. A total change of tone since the day before the rally.

Just sayin'. I smell bullshit and desperation. We need to be sure to GET OUT AND VOTE -- AND BRING A FRIEND!

1. No.
They've all received the fax telling them to lower expectations. SOP for propagandists at this stage.

2. Perhaps their intention is to breed over confidence and complacency among Republican voters ....

and panic among Democrats that will encourage more people to GOTV for Democrats.

Like you are doing.

Just speculating.

I just don't know.

4. You're not speculating, just contradicting.
You know that MSNBC's Joe Scab and his morning GOP love-fest are not encouraging more people to go out and vote Dem. Get real.

3. It's because most of the latest polling for Dems is dismal...
That is all.

On the bright side, Obama is back up to 50% approval in Rasmussen's poll.

5. The rights last chance
They are throwing out all kinds of BS today to try and get democrats to stay home tomorrow. I don't believe any of the crap I hear today. There are polls that show Miller in Alaska as the front runner, yet yesterday he was in last place and the news was that republicans were dumping him and doing all they could to help Murkowski win. I think it's all BS and getting the vote out tomorrow should be the number one goal for democrats in tight races just as you stated.

6. I don't understand all the hand wringing about what the media
and the polls say. So the media says the Republicans will win every race. The more the media talks about Democrats losing the more it fires me up to vote.
