Apparently, predictions of Joe Miller's (R) collapse in Alaska's U.S. Senate race are premature: A new Public Policy Polling survey finds Miller still leading the race with 37%, followed by Scott McAdams (D) at 30% and Lisa Murkowski at 30%.

Key finding: "Miller is winning despite having the worst personal favorability numbers of the three candidates. Only 36% have a positive opinion of him while 59% view him in a negative light. McAdams is by far the most popular with 50% rating him favorably to only 30% with an unfavorable one. Voters aren't very enamored with Murkowski either, giving her a 37/53 approval rating."

3. IMHO that race is too close to call. For one reason....

Murkowski is a write-in candidate. I gotta' believe a lot of voters just won't take the time to write her in and will instead choose whoever they perceive to be the lesser of two evils. Guess we'll know if my theory is correct sometime on Wednesday.

4. Well...

Yesterday he was in LAST place with no chance to win. I don't buy any of the polls coming out, it just doesn't make any sense when he is in last place on day and first place the next, up over 15 or so points over night! Nope, this is just a plan by the right wing to get democrats to vote for Murkowski. I also heard yesterday the republicans were dumping Miller and going to do whatever they could to get Murkowski a win! I think MIller is toast!

From reports that I've seen, the margin for error in that race approaches 10% due to the insanity that it is.

7. I'm not surprised

Even if the other poll with him in the 20's wasn't a fluke, many R's would have ended up voting for him rather than writing in Murkowski. It's highly unlikely that McAdams will win, I wouldn't even waste time thinking about it.
