I'm curious, so I have to ask...
In 2006 and 2008 when it seemed like we were going to take the house, I saw no one here talking about the media lying. Now, when it looks bad for us, the media is lying. Wouldn't they have lied about us taking over in 2006 and 2008 if they were completely against us?

I'm not all gung-ho about bigoted idiots taking over, it's just that I like to be in touch with this thing we call reality (or at least I am when I'm on the right pills. :P)

2. Yes, some people can't accept that this country is in a
state of flux and rolling wildly back and forth between the 2 parties. Eventually it will calm down, but not right now.

3. Politics does not tend to attract reality-based psychologies

DU and Free Republic agree on nothing specific, yet share many of the same pathologies.

All political sites are like this. DU is probably the best of the bunch... as good as it gets.

4. My view is that the media always exaggerates. Order of magnitude is variable.
Example: If Dems are really slated to lose 3 seats, they'll say Dems are going to lose 15.

Tomorrow I am anticipating a small to modest loss for Democrats. Enough for them to justify saying, "I told you Dems would lose!", but not nearly the order of magnitude they are touting.

6. Kind of like
How did Obama become President? And how did we gain control over both houses? When the Republicans control ALL of the voting machines?
