Question: Is returned absentee ballot envelope acceptable?
I did something stupid. I mailed my absentee ballot without putting a stamp on it. It was returned, I put a stamp on it (two stamps, actually) and mailed it again.

I hope it's still acceptable. Is it still acceptable?

(Yeah, I voted despite my total disillusionment. Whatever.)

BTW, this is in California.

I hesitated to post this because I'm fully expecting to get flamed for something. I'm sure someone will find a reason. I don't come here much anymore because DU turned into a pit of vipers. Or maybe it always was and that's one of the reasons why I became so depressed. Since avoiding DU, I'm much happier. If you're as miserable as I was, leaving DU might be something to consider.

Before resorting to DU, I tried a Google search, but couldn't find the info I needed. So I'm here.

If you decide not to flame me, thanks in advance.

1. I imagine it will be fine as long as it reached the destination before the deadline.
In PA that was this past Friday. My daughter sent hers in from college a week ahead of time so it easily arrived on time.

2. I wouldn't know why it would not be acceptable.
You could call you local county election office to verify. I know in my county, if you are unsure about your absentee ballott for some reason, you can vote provisionally, and that ballot will be held apart until your mailed ballot is located. If it is not, your provisional ballot is counted.

4. This close to Election Day, better drop off your ballot in person.
You should deliver it yourself to the county courthouse or wherever it says to deliver your ballot.

It's probably not going to get there on time if it's mailed this late.

5. Yes...
As long as it gets there on time. The post office returned the letter and once you put the postage on it will get to where it is sent!
