Bad hair day: Boy, 4, barred from pre-K for long locks
:eyes:

He was growing it to donate to children having cancer treatment

"...Jack’s early lesson in how tough life can be actually began when at the tender age of 16 months, when his grandfather died of lung cancer. Renee Szablewski decided to honor her father by letting her son’s hair grow out so that he could donate his locks to be used in wigs for children who lose their own hair to cancer radiation treatment.

..Jack has had his blond bangs trimmed since then, but that’s all.

Changing the rules

Szablewski said that St. Dominic knew about the hair-growing project last year when Jack was enrolled in pre-kindergarten classes for the first time. “I said, ‘Listen, this is what we were doing,’ ” Szablewski told TODAYshow.com. “They were like, ‘Oh, that's OK, as long as his hair is cut before kindergarten.’ ”

Jack doesn’t start kindergarten until September 2011, but during the past summer, the school updated its handbook to include pre-K students in the policy mandating that boys keep their hair short and neat. School officials gave Renee Szablewski until Oct. 1 to bring Jack’s hair into compliance."

1. Long hair - what does the Bible saids?
Long hair - what does the Bible saids?

Men with long hair is something some Christians don't like at all. So I thought I'd have to cover this issue to get rid of all misconceptions concerning this by some so controversial issue.

Some even say that it's unbiblical to have long hair and refer to the verse <1 Corinthians 11:14>

BUT to understand this scripture we need to understand what the situation was like in Corinth. At this time Corinth was known for it's immorality and perversity and the men that were sexual perverted had long hair. Paul that wrote this letter didn't want the men in the church to be taken for perverted and that's why he wrote these words.

So this is NOT God's commandment to all people throughout all times, but Paul's SPECIAL ADVICE for the people in Corinth, at that time!

Yes, that's the original headline: "what does the Bible saids?"

seemingly members) wore their hair unshorn - not only emulating earlier heroes like Samson, but also helping differentiate them from the Roman occupiers.

And, since when is a 4 year old child a 'man'?

2. I hate hair nazis.
My hair is longer than my wife's and my son's is longer than my daughter's. I hate the hair nazis, particularly when someone is doing it for a good cause. Assholes.

4. OMG, is this not 2010
Who cares what length a boy's hair is. I swear some off these people would have coronaries if they spent 30 minutes in west coast public schools.

6. Hmm. I get a weird stage mom vibe here.
She uses her toddler for charity and then alerts the media when he is to get his hair cut.

14. Ahhh.. If he has long hair then they would have to teach other
children NOT to bully him. And if churches don't teach kids to bully each other then who will ??

15. I have zero sympathy.
That anyone would subject their children to religious indoctrination day after day under the guise of "education" is utterly appalling.

The parents presumably wanted their kid to learn all sorts of insane dogma that can potentially warp one's perceptions and views for life.

Well, he just got his first lesson, didn't he?
