Kansas attorney general investigates election-related phone calls

Kansas Attorney General Steve Six, a Democrat, opened an investigation today after reports of false and misleading election phone calls.

Some Democrats have complained of receiving phone calls telling voters to go to the polls Nov. 3 — although the election is Tuesday — and giving false information about the documents voters need to cast a ballot. In Kansas, first-time voters need to only show ID.

The Attorney General’s office wouldn’t disclose details about the calls they’ve heard about.

“We opened an investigation into potential voter intimidation,” said spokesman Gavin Young. “In Kansas, misleading individuals about their vote is a felony.”

4. They do this EVERY election

When my mom was still alive they called her to offer her a ride to the polls - on Wednesday. They called senior citizens all over this area that year. This year they seem to be targeting older women.

I really hate these asshole republicans here in Kansas.

So...if someone sends me one of those email forwards about "Obama raised taxes..." that I know is false, could I turn that person in for voter intimidation?? That might get some of those emails to stop and it sounds like that is a felony.

9. No you can still lie about what you say someone did or didn't do. It may be misleading a person

into voting a certain way, but this is misleading a person about their right to vote. Mass emailing that the election is on November 3 would be voter fraud. Telling people they need State issued ID to vote is voter fraud.
But politicians are still allowed to lie.

10. Back when Ehrlich won in Maryland you should have seen

the dirty tricks he pulled. He did the same thing about telling the inner city of Baltimore, mostly black, that the election was changed to Nov 3 Wednesday - problem with the machines. He also said there would be police to arrest people who had over due utility bills. He passed out flyer's where his picture was photo shopped over Kathleen Kennedy Townsend which had been taken with some of the prominent black leaders in Maryland. You wouldn't believe all the stuff he did, and he got away with it, because they said it couldn't be proven. You know he did. The area he scammed was all Democratic.
