Yes, we would have heard all about how bush built the team, about how the bushies were at all the games, emerging from their hidey holes just as the election broke BIG for the Rs. We'd hear how the team from one of the reddest of red states beat that team from the most-liberal city in America.

"It's just not a good year for liberals," Chuck would inform us. "The polls aren't going their way, and now this. This is a bad omen that couldn't have come at a worse time!!!"

But that's not what happened.
