This old democrat stomps back!
I'll do it just as soon as the morning crowd thins out. I'll do it like I've done it for 40 years...with a straight democratic ticket! Anything less would be uncivilized!

YOU...YOU can at least do the same for your country. You'll feel better about yourself...I ALWAYS do.

7. Thank You, for caring about the betterment of our country!
Our job is to do the best we can, to keep the ship of state above water, in a stormy sea of corporate arrogance, greed, hate and misinformation.

9. This Donkey kicks back!
Like a pissed off mule!

Just remember how depressed and uncertain our country and the entire world was, when Bush and Cheney ran things. We didn't even know if we still lived in a free country back then. The GOP "rubber-stamped" every crazy thing the neocons could dream up to ram through congress. Who will the next GOP regime invade and torture, if they ever seat another neocon "Unitary Executive"/Dictator?(I believe the tea baggers and their "Leaders" are even more dangerous than the PNAC and the neocons)

I remember...

Bush's executive tyranny

We need a citizens commission to investigate how far the Bush White House wanted to take executive power after 9/11.

March 04, 2009|TIM RUTTEN

Just how close to the brink of executive tyranny did the United States come in the panic that swept George W. Bush's administration after 9/11? The answer, it now seems clear, is that we came far closer than even staunch critics of the White House believed.

Imperial Presidency 101 - Unitary Executive Theory and the Imperial Presidency

Snip...

The Unitary Executive Theory:

Under the Bush administration's interpretation of the unitary executive theory, the President has authority over members of the executive branch, functioning as a CEO or Commander-in-Chief, and his or her power is restricted only by the U.S. Constitution as interpreted by the Judiciary. Congress can hold the President accountable only by censure, impeachment, or constitutional amendment; legislation restricting the executive branch has no power.

12. I hope we can beat back some or the idiots who have sucked in
the Fool-Aid.

Who would have ever though that the old folks might be the lucky ones? Another crew like the Neocons would spell lights out for the "Beacon Of Freedom"...I hope I ain't around to ever see another crew like that. Too bad our grandkids will be dealing with these greedy bastards.

I'm pulling a straight ticket for the generation in their junior years. At least we had some hope that things could and would get better when we grew up.

The Unitary Executive: Is The Doctrine Behind the Bush Presidency Consistent with a Democratic State?
By JENNIFER VAN BERGEN
Monday, Jan. 09, 2006

When President Bush signed the new law, sponsored by Senator McCain, restricting the use of torture when interrogating detainees, he also issued a Presidential signing statement. That statement asserted that his power as Commander-in-Chief gives him the authority to bypass the very law he had just signed.

This news came fast on the heels of Bush's shocking admission that, since 2002, he has repeatedly authorized the National Security Agency to conduct electronic surveillance without a warrant, in flagrant violation of applicable federal law.

And before that, Bush declared he had the unilateral authority to ignore the Geneva Conventions and to indefinitely detain without due process both immigrants and citizens as enemy combatants.

All these declarations echo the refrain Bush has been asserting from the outset of his presidency. That refrain is simple: Presidential power must be unilateral, and unchecked. Read More...

and most times ...there is am comprehension prob..

If the GOPer win the WH....it will be worse than ever

The GOPers have given us a picture of their goals: None of it positive...

Leading me to ask:::

WHAT WILL THE GOP DO TO SOLVE OUR MYRIAD OF CONCERNS AND PROBS?

PROLLY MAKE THEM WORSE....
