Everybody wants something/our unifying trait

everybody going to the polls today wants something.
wants to see somebody elected.
wants to see somebody lose.
from the extreme left
all the way over to the extreme right.
everybody pulling the lever wants something.
everybody in the voting booth believes in something.
something like the America we long for.

who used to say
"What you think matters".

election day is a fine example of that.
