Kentucky may be a barometer for the rest of the nation?
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 10:47 AM by kentuck
With one of the best candidates in years, Jack Conway, running for Senate, if Rand Paul runs away with that race, maybe 7-10% points ahead, then that means the Tea Party is really as enthusiastic as the media has been saying.

On the other hand, if Conway is within 5% or less, then the "enthusiasm gap" may be over-rated and the Democrats may do much better in the tight races across the country. That means that Harry Reid, Patty Murray, Michael Bennett, Russ Feingold, and others, may do much better than predicted by the mainstream media?

Keep an eye on the early results from Kentucky. They will be some of the first reported. If Conway is closer than predicted, it is a good sign for Democrats.

4. I don't think Kentucky, politically, is a barometer for the rest of the nation.....
Not demographically, not based on voting patterns, etc.

15. I agree
Kentucky is not the barometer -- Ohio and West Virginia may be, however.

8. Sorry but Kentucky is well, Kentucky
And I one of us who gave Conway $50.00 a couple of months ago. I really hope he pulls it out but sorry man, I been to Kentucky and there are not enough of us there. And I know about how the primary Demo numbers were way more than the pugs. I just don't think that the state is gonna elect a Dem soon. I hope I am wrong!!!!!!

10. I don't expect them to elect a Democrat but....
if they keep Rand Paul's numbers low, it will be a good indicator, is all I am saying.

11. Geez people
If Conway does better than expected in KENTUCKY, one of the hottest Tea Party areas, then the "enthusiasm gap" may be over-rated and Dems will do well in other states.
Kentucky could be a good indicator of just how 'enthusiastic' the Tea Party really is.

Good post Kentuck. Definetely food for thought.

I also think that Conway will prevail easily considering that his last internal poll had him winning at 49-47.
