"...The total number of early votes has topped 16 million, according to one preliminary analysis, and is on track to be slightly shy of the historic number of early ballots cast in the 2008 presidential election..."

Yeah, .....I'm holding out on the "hopey changey" thing continuing...

This is good news and surprising IMHO due to this being a midterm election and big numbers USUALLY favor dems.

Yes We Can....

Regards

1. Shameless bump, people this is good news...big numbers USUALLY favor dems and NO TIME in election ..
...history has mid terms matched presidential numbers like early voting.

2. It is a double edged sword. If it goes our way that is terrific, however, if the American public
votes what the polls imply, then we will be very bad, and we will be hearing how terrible the Democrats are for months, and this is a mandate against them

5. I was going to say that all my friends voted Dem...but then,
I remembered that I've lost most of my Repug friends.

8. Those polls predicted 'discouraged Democrats', not record turnout.
Large turnout ALWAYS favors Democrats for the very simple fact that we outnumber the other side.

I still, as I have done for months, predict only the typical mid-term losses, and no loss of either house. And to help ensure that, I voted last week.

Remember, WE are the American public - they are not some 'other' hovering out there in the dark.

Polls stopped being valid when they fell under the control of ad men and MBAs instead of statisticians and political scientists. Don't worry about what they SAY the polls say - just go out and vote.

10. RIGHT!! I'm leaning that way also due to every election of large turn out favoring dems. Also, those
...poll models didn't include early voting president in the last 3 elections.

Worth stayin up and watching

15. I definitely agree with you about the polls and the corporate media, but I am concerned as hell if
on some of these races the teabaggers do get in. That would signal a very dangerous move for the country
