Wonder how many people there are like me today.
I'm not nearly as involved in politics as I used to be.

I probably should be more informed, but the information overload / biased "press" was crushing my spirit.

I was never once polled.

I'm not where I can display a political sign.

I couldn't afford to donate to any candidates.

I'm working three part-time jobs and raising three children while my husband travels 75% of the time so I had nothing left in time or energy for political volunteerism.

I made no noise, registered no opinion, went to no rallies.

Voted.

Democrat.

Surprise!

4. Perhaps
Then again, every single political candidate I have ever donated to has lost. Seriously, I've never donated to a winning candidate. They might not want my money.

On a more serious note, while I wish I could, we really are in a situation of being one less paycheck away from disaster at the moment. Ah, the good ole days when I only had two jobs plus child rearing and household chores.

8. I ran into a co-worker today at the bank
And asked if he had voted. He is in his mid-60's, and we live an a Republican leaning county (Sussex Co. DE) and he told me that while he has always voted in presidential elections this was the first time in his life he had voted in the Mid-Terms. And yes he voted strait Democrat.

11. I'm certain there are many like you
all over the country. You do what you can - vote. Some of us can work on campaigns. There was a time, I was in your position but as a single parent - working full time, going to school, raising 2 kids, no time for campaigns. It is hard but we can trust times will change. Glad you voted. I never missed a vote either.
