For those of you who don't know, SNCC (pronounced snick) stands for Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and they were a significant player in getting the disenfranchised (especially Black Americans in the South) registered to vote and to the polls in the 1960s. His tale (like so many others like him) is one of perseverance through horrendous treatment.

I want to thank all the get-out-the-vote folks who carry on his legacy (as well as the legacies of many others who fought the good fight and won).
