First snow in Anchorage today,
just to add a little more drama to the mix. About an 1-1/2 inches of snow on top of ice with rain & snow mix falling in different places around town.

I'm not sure how it will affect turnout, but I heard that streets and roads on the hillside are a mess.

3. Only your first?
We had two days of snow last week. Although I imagine once it snows there, it stays put.

4. Yes, it's a couple of weeks late this year.
This is only the 11th year since 1939 that the first snow in Anchorage came in November rather than October.

5. I dealt with 7 winters in Anchorage. That was enough for me.

7. There are many things I miss, but the day-to-day during winter about did me in.
I know cabin fever intimately.
