When the Dems come out on top today how will WE change tomorrow?

Even when we retain majority it will be close and the fight will still be between two parties of millionaire want to 'bees'! We need to mindfully set the changes that we will make to get this country out of her rapid downward spiral. If we eek this one out we all need to pledge to do more. But what is it that will make a difference? Is there a way that we can use DU to reach Washington? A weekly letter to the President that would highlight our concerns and acknowledge his successes. It could serve two purposes, one to help us organize our concerns and successes and two, a record for 2012. Sure the President doesn't read DU and I am a fool to think that he would get the message. We don't know if we don't try.

On a personal level I plan to re-initiate my action of calling Senators and Reps regularly to make sure that they hear my voice. I did this almost daily in the * years but have been too overwhelmed to continue in the recent past. I also plan to buy only American and eat less of everything. Sending contributions to the homeless shelters and food pantry's. I may not be able to solve the country's problems but I can make an impact locally for those in need.

As the nerves in my stomach grow, and the talking heads prepare to tell who the winners will be, I am reminded of Obama's words in 2008. He can't save us. We have to save ourselves. I can't help but ask how we will do that over the next two years?
