Outperforming in Conn. and Pa.
Democrats are outperforming their statewide turnout models in Connecticut and Pennsylvania, Democratic sources e-mail.

Through the day, Democratic operatives have been touting high turnout in urban areas — but the new numbers suggest the possibility of better performances in competitive districts across these two states.

Democrats have a lot on the line in Pennsylvania, where Reps. Kathy Dahlkemper, Paul Kanjorski and Patrick Murphy are all in trouble. Still, there are glimmers of hope: Democrats have strong challengers taking on Republican Reps. Jim Gerlach and Charlie Dent.

Sources are so far silent on overall turnout in states such as Missouri and North Carolina, where they’ve been encouraged by urban turnout
