in a normally GOP district win unless the GOP totally blows the opportunity somehow? Under the best circumstances(following all- ahem- wise DU advice) we were likely to lose. No, the most frustrating thing was watching the GOP stumble on frantic life supports into an upright position defying all rationality. If it was just the money California would have gone down. We should have been more populist and aggressive, yet it must still have been difficult. And a lot of the little guys were swept away by big picture blunders way up top.

Just plan on destroying the phony GOP for pet's sake and end this whole charade. It doesn't take a perfect progressive party either.

...we do know that he was targed as "Enemy #1" by the Republicans / Koch Brothers, and a huge barrage of $$$ was aimed in his direction.

So yeah, that ad was a misstep for sure, it did not help and may have hurt. But the money counted for more this time, IMO.
