Am I wrong to think that a Republican takeover of the House
and more Republicans in the Senate will help Obama and the Democrats in 2012? Do we really think that things will get any better with these idiots in charge? I don't think so.

3. So things will get worse.
And Obama will still be at the helm. That doesn't sound much like a formula for success to me.

4. That depends on how obsessed with "bipartisanship" the administration is
and what the Republicans manage to dredge up.

7. Republicans will chair very important committees.
Judicial, Ways & Means, Foreign Affairs, Budget, Rules....

This is really going to be a tough next two years.

Does anyone really think that people like Barney Frank and Kucinich are going to dither now?

11. I'm thinking that the Republicans will be getting
a Pyhrric victory. The loony wing of the party congressmen will probably not be very cooperative and Speaker of the House Boehner isn't willing to put in the hours to be effective. It will interfere with his pub crawling time.

12. That's a two way street.
When democrats took over, it helped republicans because people saw the democrats in action. Now we will see the republicans in action and democrats will pick up seats. And when they get those seats, their actions will result in republicans getting elected again ...

13. if things don't improve with jobs and the economy, it's going to be a hard race for Obama in 2012
and with the republicans having even more power now to block any rational action for improving the economy, it doesn't seem likely that things will improve.

14. I don't know which way they'll choose to go.
It could be that things are on an upswing now and with a little help will improve enough for repubs to say "see all you needed was us..." Then again they could go the opposite and tank everything by doing nothing but argue...

17. Yes, you're wrong.
Leaving aside, if that's possible, the terrible cost in human misery that would result, the TV would blame it all on Democrats. More Republicans being taken more seriously in more airtime is never, ever a good thing.

If America could learn lasting lessons from its mistakes, I might feel differently--because the mistakes we're going to be witnessing in the next two years will be epic in scale.

He'll look better if he stick the obstructionist label on the Pukes. The economy will be the key issue.
