I am a Democratic Liberal woman who, along with my husband, make excellent money, pay a good deal in taxes, have my dream house on a lake, have retirement savings that include a pension, stock and savings plan, and Social Security. We have good health insurance and never worry about what we will eat, drive, or wear. We are the children of working class parents, and are the epitome of the American Dream.

I vote for Democrats in office because I realize how incredibly blessed we are, and I know that many people in our country work hard, but continue to struggle. I vote for Democrats because children who are ill or need therapy have no insurance. Because I am not stingy and greedy, and I want to help others who aren't as fortunate as we are.

Even though I'm saddened by the loss of Tom Perriello in my district, part of me can't wait to watch as the people of my district who voted for a Republican (again) get just what they voted for.

2. Thats why we are democrats
because we care. It would be easier to not give a care and let them do what ever they want, but we are not wired that way. It physically pains me when I see people be treated badly because they are gay or black or mexican or muslim.

3. Michigander here and couldn't agree more

Watching Virg Benero (D) concede to former Gateway COO Rick "the Dick" Snyder (R).

I am so tired of stupid people. No one can remember what party got us in this mess?

Are memories that short?

Or are people really just that fucking stupid?

The Republicans didn't win on their own record. They were anti-establishment and that's the mood.

Like you said, they get what they deserve.
