1. Well, this is Cook County.

This isn't Downstate or the Suburbs. Those aren't nearly as Democratic as Chicago.

His lead is going to shrink. But if he has a big enough lead in Chicago, then he can win. :-)

1. Cook county (Chicago) generally comes in first.

2. Downstate comes in second (Kirk, probably)

3. DuPage comes in third, when they know how much they have to steal (rethug territory).

4. Downstate (esp. central & southern IL) have to report.

Kirk will pick up a lot of votes there. (Quinn/Simon ticket will run stronger than Alexi does downstate.)

I'm pretty sure Quinn will get the governorship. I'm nervous about the Senate seat.

6. There are a few fairly good blue areas in downstate. . .

some of Southern Illinois (Carbondale) goes blue a lot. . .and sometimes Decatur, Champaign-Urbana, and even on occasion Bloomington-Normal and Peoria.

5. I thought they had projected him as the winner

Isn't it odd if the republican is a little ahead they go on to say they are the winner but if the Democrat has a commanding lead they still don't call it. I don't understand how they say the republicans have won the house and voting is only finished in a little over half the states.
